A woman from California brought home a box of crackers and found inside it an envelope with $10,000. She called the police and heard that probably this money was drug related. It was later discovered that an old woman returned a box of crackers and later came back searching for it, as she mistakenly returned a box with her life savings in it, since she does not trust bank she felt this option is safer.

Amazon, the online retailer has announced the holiday season of 2008 as the best year ever. On one day Aamzon got 6.3 million orders through the websites. On its busiest day Amazon provided 5.6 million items around the world, 99% of them on time.

The first electric car with satisfying performances, made by a major manufacturer, will be riding UK roads as soon as mid 2009. The i-MiEV from Mitsubishi will reach top speed of 140kph, can go a distance of 160 km without charging and provides all the safety required from a saloon car including passing successfully crash tests.

For the first time in history, researchers were able to produce embryonic stem cells from rats. For many of us that do not sound exiting, but for medical research this is a real revolution because rats are more ’related’ to mankind than mice – a fact that will allow scientists to create models much more effective than was possible until now in the research of human diseases.

Canadian woman left her home on Friday’s ice storm and didn’t come back, after three days of searching she was found on Monday afternoon thanks to a dog’s sense of smell. The temperature was 15C below zero (5F) and the woman survived the extreme conditions although she was dressed only with light coat.

A great initiative of a battery company (DURACELL) invites people to cycle and produce electricity while doing it. This electricity will be saved and used at New Year celebrations in New Years Eve.
