Treating Cancer Cells with Laser

A research done at the university of Texas developed a laser been that can heat a living cell up to the point where it completely evaporate. This procedure can be done in a very fast and accurate way so no other cells are harmed during this procedure.  This new technology will make it possible to have surgeries which are not possible today due to the danger of damaging healthy cells.

Panasonic showed at CES last night at Vegas a new 3D TV which is capable to play 3D movies that can be watched with special 3-D glasses. The company goal is that by the year of 2010 we will be able to watch 3-D home movies.

Tiny Fuel Cell Instead of Batteries

The smallest fuel cell (3 millimetres across) has been successfuly created by US chemical engineers and will be able , in the future to replace batteries in gadgets. These fuel cells can store more energy than batteries on the same space.

Lou the Mule Saves a Woman from Fire

This new years’ eve, a mule named Lou, saved a woman from a fire started in her house. Jolen , who lives on her own in her farm was eating dinner while her mule was catching her attention, she stepped outside to see if everything is ok with her mule and saw her house was on fire. She called 911, but the house got burned living her with nothing but her mule.

New Iguana Species Discovered in Galapagos

The new iguana type discovered in the Galapagos, 1000 Km from Ecuador, has a unique skin color in the shade of pink. This type of Iguanas only stays around one volcano in the island called Isabela.

Dolphins in Australia Using Sponges to Track Food

A group of researchers discovered that dolphins in west Australia are using a unique technique in order to locate food, this technique is only used by female dolphins and young female dolphins learning this technique from their moms. The dolphins attach a small sponge to the tip of their nose, which defends them from the sand inside the water and assists them in finding small fish.

Worlds’ Largest Marine Protected Area

The USA will establish a 500,000 sq km (190,000 sq miles) nature marine protected area around some of the Pacific islands, which also includes the deepest ocean area on earth. Any fishing or mining activities will be banned.
