Gay Penguin Couple Adopted an Egg

A gay penguin couple, part of a small gay community at a zoo in Bremerhaven in northern Germany, adopted a rejected egg from a heterosexual penguin  couple and is raising the chick.

Free Entrance to National Parks in the USA

During this summer, on 3 weekends, over 100 national parks in the USA (including Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Everglades np’s)  will offer fee free entrance. This will be available during the following weekends:  June 20-21, 2009 (Father’s Day weekend), July 18-19, 2009, August 15-16, 2009.

Renewable Energy Gets More Funds This Year

in comperason to last year, it seems that renewable energy projects are getting more fundings during 2008 than other energy projects such as oil. During 2008 140 billion  dollars were invested in renewable energy projects, only 110 billion dollars were invested in other energy projects.

Extra Ordinary Solar Plans for India

India plans to install 100 GW solar capacity by the year 2030 and a total of 200 GW by the year 2050. This huge capacity of solar power is the most ambitious ever conceived. The plan is to use several solar technologies and to expand on both rural and urban areas.
