“Smallest-Ever” Baby Born in Germany Survived

A medical miracle happened as the world’s smallest baby boy which has been born in Germany weighing only 275g survived. The baby was born last June after only 25 weeks of pregnancy and has been released by the hospital only now when doctors are confident he is strong enough to survive.

Breakthrough in Growing Stem Cells

Researchers at Weill Cornell Medical College have discovered a way to grow and maintain adult stem cells in large amounts for weeks. Until now it was impossible to keep stem cells ‘alive’ for more than 4-5 days. this discovery can lead to applications for regeneration of organs, inhibition of cancer cell growth and more.

Brazil and the US Combat Deforestation

Secretary Clinton signed an agreement with Brazil to combat deforestation with the objective of slash greenhouse gas emissions from tropical deforestation. The deal marks the first time the two countries have formally agreed to work together on this subject.
