International chefs in South Africa for the children

35 international chefs from 8 different countries arrived to South Africa in order to take part in a 10 days culinary journey which will help raise money for the Akani Diepsloot Foundation, African Children’s Feeding Scheme and Meals on Wheels Community Services. The goal is to reach $688,000 US  which will supply 300 children meals for the next 5 years.

New Schools in Afghanistan

Japanese Citizens Return $78 Million in Cash Found in Earthquake Rubble

saved soldiers’ lives with a toy

In 2007, Ernie Fessenden sent his brother, Staff Sgt. Chris Fessenden, a toy truck which had a radio-controlled (RC) outfitted with a wireless video camera to assist on checking for bombs under trucks.  2 weeks ago, this toy truck  prevented the potential deaths of six soldiers in Afghanistan, as Chris detailed in an email to Ernie.

New leukemia treatment exceeds expectations

Doctors at the University of Pennsylvania, who tried a new treatment on 3 patients,  say this treatment made the most common type of leukemia completely disappear in two of the patients and reduced it by 70 percent in the third.
