Russia to stop polar bear hunting

Last year, A Russian-U.S. commission agreed to restrict polar bear hunting to 29 bears every year for each of the countries. But Russia’s polar bear program decidednot to allow polar bear hunting in Russia.

A baby dolphin was found in a rice field (1 kilometer from sea) after a Tsunami wave carried it away. This week, the baby dolphin was return to sea.

Family dog saved by dolphins

The 11 years old Doberman disappeared on Sunday got stuck in a canal at Marco island and was only found after 15 hours by a neighbor living near by because of the persistence of some dolphins.

25 Lions rescued from Bolivian circuses

Gorillas Conservation Efforts Paying Off

War zone at Norhtern Sri Lanka becomes wildlife sanctuary

The government of Sri Lanka, has announced turning a vast area of jungle (earlier a base for Tamil Tiger rebels)  which spread over 40,000 hectares and located in northern Sri Lanka,  into a wildlife sanctuary.

Rediscovery of ‘Extinct’ Spider in England

Researchers feared that the Rosser’s sac spider may have gone extinct after 10 years ago the sightings if it stopped completely. A new sighting of the spider has provided proof of its existence and has suggested that the population of it is healthier than thought before.

13 Nations To Save Tigers From Extinction

13 countries where tigers still live in the wild participated in a tiger summit in ST. PETERSBURG, Russia and agreed to a program to save the iconic big cats from extinction. The Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio committed $1 million to World Wildlife Fund after helping the group raise $20 million for tiger conservation earlier this year.

Saving 180,000 Baby Turtles

Brazil’s Turtles of the Amazon Project is an organization which aims to make the first stages of life for the endangered turtles a little easier. The organization recently coordinated the release of 180,000 thirty days old Arraus river turtles into the Amazon river with hopes to better their chances to survive.
