Rainforest park at Sierra Leone

14 years old boy saves a woman from fire

A 74 years old woman from Penn, was caught in the 2nd floor of her house last week, when the first floor was starting to get on fire. she screamed from help out of the 2nd floor window. Her neighbor, a 14 years old boy, heard the screams and ran to the house, placing an old wooden ladder next to the window. The old ladder broke and the woman fell but she was out of the house, suffering minor injuries.

Lottery ticket in trash leads to a huge win.

Andrew Hunter of Dawsonville, Ga, was throwing a lottery ticket he thought was worthless to the trash but later on had a second thought. He searched for the ticket and won a small prize of $3, while there he reinvested those $3 and won $250,000.

AIDS Related Deaths ‘Down 21% From Peak

UNAids latest report shows Aids-related deaths are down 21% and they are at the lowest level since their peak at 2005. Globally, the number of new HIV infections in 2010 was 21% down on that peak, seen in 1997.

Jill Smokler from  Maryland is running a parenting blog on which she was asking her readers to donate through her site to help families in need, she helped raise over $18,000. This money was going towards supermarket gift cards and helped providing dinner for 378 families who couldn’t afford it otherwise.

12 years old girl builds 27 homes in Haiti

Rachel Wheeler from Florida heard about the earthquake victims in a meeting she went with her mother 3 years ago and decided to help building houses for families who lost their homes. 3 years later Rachel raised over $250,000 and used most of it to open a new earthquake-proof cement structures that shelter 27 families.
