Scientists discovered new method to manufacture efficient piezoelectric materials cheaply. The new material PZT has efficiency of 80% for converting mechanical energy into electricity and this new discovery can lead to development of medical devices like pacemakers that do not require periodic surgical battery replacement.

Research team from the University Of Waterloo managed to create lithium-sulphur battery which stores three times more power than conventional lithium-ion batteries.
