Oregon state in US has finished building a very large wind turbine farm which will supply 450-MW in a cost of 1$ billion. In addition another wind farm is in construction which will be the largest in US with a total power of 845-MW. This wind farm will be finished in 2012.

75,000 More Acres to Conservation Program

The USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) announced last week an addition of 75,000 acres to their Wetlands Reserve Program. Wetlands are an important habitat to many species, they filter contaminants from the water, and they prevent flooding and soil erosion, and play other environmental key roles. The USDA will also provide approximately $175 million in funding to the 22 states and Puerto Rico, too.

US Air Quality Improved Significantly

Brazil and the US Combat Deforestation

US Donations for Haiti Surpassed $1 Billion
